Where is the property?

Give a target square footage or range. California ADUs may begin as small efficiency units, while local maximums commonly range from 850 to 1,200 square feet. The property review will confirm what applies.

How many bedrooms would you like?

Studio, one bedroom, two bedrooms, three or more, or describe the sleeping arrangement you have in mind.

How many bathrooms would you like?

One, one-and-a-half, two, or another arrangement. Final fixture counts must fit the unit and utility capacity.

What would you like in the kitchen?

Describe full-size or compact appliances, island or peninsula, pantry, cabinet storage, seating, and any accessibility needs.

What rooms, storage, or special features matter most?

Laundry, walk-in closet, desk, accessible shower, indoor-outdoor connection, vaulted ceiling, covered patio, or other priorities.

What architectural style do you prefer?

Spanish, California ranch, coastal, craftsman, contemporary, traditional, or a style that complements the existing home.

Should the plan support aging in place or accessibility?

Describe step-free access, wider doors, turning clearances, accessible bath features, or future flexibility.

Would you like interior-design services added?

Via Rosa Design Studio may be added as the interior-design consultant for kitchens, baths, cabinetry, materials, fixtures, lighting, furnishings, and finish selections.

What schedule and budget should guide the design?

Share your desired start date, target construction timing, and any working construction budget.

California law establishes statewide protections, but the allowable size, height, setbacks, configuration, utilities, fire access, coastal review and other requirements remain property-specific. Bennett Design Studio will verify the selected jurisdiction before defining the plan scope.
